SeaVee Boats Introduces the all new 290 at the 2005 Miami International Boat Show!

Miami, JANUARY 12, 2005

After successfully completing the roll out of the revolutionary 310 Series over the past two years, SeaVee Boats is proud to introduce the completely redesigned 290 at the 2005 Miami International Boat Show.

Starting from scratch, SeaVee focused on her hull first. The new 290 has an overall length of 29’ 6” and a 9’ beam, making the boat even roomier than before, as well as adding stability both underway and while adrift. Using the same construction process as the 310 and 340 Series, the 290 now features a PVC-cored, vacuum bagged hull that is strong, stiff and light. The big news, however, is in the performance category. Top speed with 500hp is 60mph. Time to plane is noticeably faster. And with 25 degrees of transom deadrise, the 290 handles all that power with grace. Occupants can expect an incredibly soft, dry ride through rough chop – even at high speed.

The 290 is available exclusively in the outboard powered, open fisherman configuration. SeaVee recommends between 400 and 500hp to achieve cruising speeds of 39 and 47 mph respectively.

Anglers with an eye for detail will appreciate the meticulous fit and finish. Every lid and hatch is now two-piece molded and finished on both sides. The center console has been significantly upgraded, featuring a finished interior liner that hides the previously exposed wiring, while providing easy access to electronics, batteries and helm area.

Fishing features were designed with the tournament angler in mind. The 290 now has a 50 gallon above deck transom bait well standard, and the option of adding a second 90 gallon well in the rear cockpit sole. SeaVee located an extra large fish box in the center of the forward cockpit, with the option of upgrading the rear storage compartment to a second fish box, adding even more capacity. Other notable standard features include trim tabs, a 10-year hull warranty and an integrated transom bracket complete with tuna door and a bait station compartment.

The list of available options is vast and impressive. SeaVee now offers their extremely popular tackle station leaning post, as well as a Key West style fiberglass hard top with integrated lighting. The 290 can accommodate up to an amazing 23 fishing rods; (14) on the sides of the console, (4) in the back of the leaning post, and another (5) in the rocket launcher. Other notable options include a fiberglass cooler mounted on a SeaVee exclusive stainless steel track system to slide securely under the leaning post, fresh water washdown and an electric head.
