Wejebe Selects SeaVee Boats For The Spanish Fly
34’ Center Console
Will Be Featured on ESPN2’s Longest Running Outdoor
Program
Miami,
FL March 29, 2006 – Celebrity angler Jose Wejebe has
chosen SeaVee’s flagship 340 series for his new sport
fishing boat. The 34’center console open fisherman
will be featured on The Spanish Fly, the renowned fishing
program that has been showing ESPN2 viewers some of the
greatest adventures in sport fishing since 1995.
A light-tackle pioneer who is one of the most recognizable
saltwater anglers in the world, Wejebe will use the 750
horsepower, triple-outboard boat during episodes on the
cable television channel beginning in 2006 as he explores
for hard-fighting fish that challenge the outer limits of
gear design. His decision to use SeaVee was based on multiple
factors, including the products and the company’s
reputation for customer service that were reinforced during
multiple sessions of dock talk with other users.

“Before I use and endorse equipment I always talk
to other fisherman who have experience with it, and in the
case of the SeaVee 34’ the layout was constantly mentioned
because the tackle box, live well, rod holders, and everything
you need is right in reach from the center console,”
says Wejebe. “I especially like the ride and the handling
– it has a very stable hull so I don’t have
to read every wave and make constant adjustments, which
means I get to focus on fishing after a couple of preliminary
trim adjustments.”
The abundance of equipment and capabilities of the 340 series
boats can meet the needs of any offshore fisherman. Three
leaning post designs including a tackle station and up to
three bait wells, room for up to 42 rods, a hard top, and
folding and removable seats provide all the ingredients
needed for a satisfying trip. The 340 comes in five configurations
with options for single or twin diesels, twin or triple
outboards, and a cuddy cabin.
“When building a boat like the 340 you need to have
a design team that loves to fish so that every detail is
addressed,” says Ariel Pared, president of SeaVee
Boats. “We made sure the 340 has a flawless design
and capability, which has now been proven both in the marketplace
and by this agreement with world-class fisherman Jose Wejebe.
After being on the water for most of his life and on ESPN2
for more than a decade, Jose is certainly someone who would
know a great boat when he sees it.”
The Spanish Fly is filled with breathtaking underwater footage,
spectacular cinematography, complimentary editing and Wejebe’s
signature on-screen style. The show shot to the top of the
ratings at its debut, and each week he shows viewers a unique
interactive style of fishing using techniques learned throughout
his travels. The 2006 lineup will have 22 new episodes.
