When you’re building a SeaVee, the brand of motors you choose to hang is up to you. The 290 Series is adequately powered with twin 250hp motors, reaching a top speed between 50-55 mph, depending on boat layout and engine choice. Speeds between 55-60 miles per hour are attainable with twin 300 – 350hp motors.
Recent advances in outboard technology mean the 290 can now be powered with two 400 hp motors, making her capable of reaching a top speed well in excess of 60mph. Leading the way has never been more exhilerating!
Top speed and range may vary significantly depending on sea conditions and load
The 290 Series is designed with competitive anglers in mind. A sliding cooler disappears under the leaning post on stainless steel tracks. There’s a bait rigging tray that folds down to hold your tackle boxes while gearing up. Up to 21 rods can be stored out of the way, yet ready for action along the sides of the console, the back of the learning post and in the rocket launcher. The primary focus for the layout is to ensure that everything is where it should be.
Large, clean, flush decks mean there’s no stepping up and down while fighting a fish, and plenty of fishing space for the whole team, You and your crew move about securely on an uncluttered deck with a grippy, nonskid finish underfoot.
For live bait fishing, the 290 features a standard 50 gallon bait well located in the aft cockpit, along with two optional wells, including a 60 gallon in-floor well.
Towers allow the captain to spot fish at a distance. SeaVee offers a wide variety of choices.
Keep your catch cold and fresh until you get back to the dock with up to three insulated fish boxes.
The 290 can accommodate up to 3 bait wells, two in the transom, and an in-floor well up front.
The SeaVee 290 features a large, ergonomic center console with plenty of space to mount two 12″ navigation units side by side with room to spare for a VHF, head unit and key switches. A splash cover protects vital electronics. And an array of switches that controls onboard accessories is within easy reach.
The console door is located on the front, allowing the sides of the console to be used for out-of-the-way rod storage. The interior houses battery switches, a breaker panel, access to electronics and batteries, and it can be outfitted with an optional marine head.
